Jordan’s 22-year-old Sara Asad is literally on her way to be on top of the world, as she sets out to climb one of the world’s seven highest summits for her campaign: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Accessible Jordan.
She is going to climb the nearly 6,000-metre Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for Accessible Jordan, a non-government organisation.“This is the only organisation in Jordan that focuses specifically on accessibility, an issue that affects us all,” Asad explains. With over 1 million people with physical disabilities in Jordan, Accessible Jordan is on a mission to raise awareness and improve accessibility for a more inclusive Jordan.
With Family Flavours and Nakahat Ailiyeh parenting magazines’ focusing on humanitarian causes, “we support this important fundraising initiative as accessibility effects not onlyadults but teens, children and babies too”, notes Hind-Lara Mango, publisher and managing director of Al Marji Publications. “Accessibility is a right, not a privilege,” she adds.
