Airport International Group (AIG) celebrated this month the arrival of Fly Baghdad’s first flight to Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), marking the start of four weekly flights between Amman and Baghdad.
The welcoming ceremony was attended by chief representatives and officials from AIG and Fly Baghdad, in addition to Fly Baghdad’sgeneral sales agent in Jordan, Petra Travel and Tourism Company.
Fly Baghdad’s inaugural flight to Amman, which was honoured with the customary “water arch” salute, reaffirms Airport International Group’s ongoing efforts to expand QAIA’s airline network, which subsequently stimulates passenger traffic growth at Jordan’s prime gateway to the world.
“We are excited to welcome Fly Baghdad at QAIA, as this will help us offer passengers additional flight options to and from Jordan,” AIG CEO Kjeld Binger said.
“We are confident that this step will also increase the number of passengers arriving to Jordan, which will not only contribute to the local tourism sector and the national economy as a whole, but will also strengthen ties between Jordan and Iraq in a number of areas.
