AMMAN — The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) on Monday launched the first phase of "Ana Usharek" (I Participate) programme in 12 Jordanian universities.
A series of memoranda of understanding were signed with numerous colleges and universities, most notably Jordan University of Science and Technology, German Jordanian University, Al Balqa Applied University, the University of Jordan, the Hashemite University, Yarmouk University and Princess Sumaya University of Technology, according to a statement from the foundation on Sunday.
The extracurricular programme targets university students and aims at reinforcing the values of democracy, providing them with fundamental knowledge to increase their political participation and active citizenship and engage in the process of decision making.
Participants would also learn about human rights, political parties, and elections. In relation to social issues, the programme would familiarise students with tools and means to promote solutions through the Internet and social media.
