AMMAN — Under the patronage of HRH Princess Muna, the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) will launch the "Change Day 7" initiative on September 7, which coincides with World Patient Safety Day 2020, under the theme “Health Worker Safety: A Priority for Patient Safety.”
The initiative will express solidarity with nations across the world through lighting up the Kingdom’s archaeological sites and landmarks in orange to celebrate the occasion.
It will also carry out diverse and innovative pledges as possible, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported, adding that more than 200,000 pledges have been made over the past six years.
As every year, Princess Muna is among the first participants and supporters of the initiative. The princess said: “I pledge to defend the safety of health workers, which is a priority for the safety of patients.”
Healthcare providers are the first line of defence, especially nurses and midwives, she said, praising their dedication notably amid the COVID-19 crisis.
The princess pledged to stand with them, expressing her appreciation for their tireless efforts.
