‘Germany to provide Jordan with 729.4m euros in support’

AMMAN — German Ambassador to Jordan Birgitta Maria Siefker-Eberle on Monday said that her government will hold talks this week to provide a record volume of 729.4 million euros in support to the Kingdom.
During an interview with The Jordan Times ahead of Germany’s national day on Tuesday, the country’s ambassador to the Kingdom, Siefker-Eberle, said that the total includes budget support for water and education amounting to 400 million euros. In addition, Germany will offer 100 million euros of humanitarian aid and further support in the military and security field, she added.
Since 2012, the German Government has supported the Government of Jordan in dealing with the enormous challenges related to the influx of Syrian refugees, she said.
