AMMAN — Director General of Jerusalem Endowments and Al Aqsa Mosque Affairs Azzam Khatib said that Jordanian efforts, under the Royal directives, succeeded in reopening Al Aqsa Mosque to all Muslims peacefully during Ramadan, despite the Israeli restrictions imposed on the mosque several days ago. Speaking to the government-owned Al Mamlaka TV on Thursday, he said that directives of His Majesty King Abdullah succeeded in opening Al Aqsa Mosque to all worshippers for prayers and Quran recitations, adding that some obstacles are still imposed by the Israeli occupation. Khatib pointed out that the arrangements of the Jerusalem Awqaf Department are proceeding smoothly, including the organisation of iftars, the reception of worshippers, and the provision of religious lessons.
