AMMAN — Labour Minister Nidal Bataineh on Saturday took to Facebook to clarify the reasons for issuing Defence Order No. 6, which “took into consideration” the circumstances of all production parties, including employers, employees and the government.
“No party will be 100 per cent satisfied with the order”, Bataineh said, adding that if any one party were completely satisfied, it would be at the expense of other entities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister noted that the suspension of work will not continue for much longer, given that the government has plans to gradually resume operations in various sectors under certain economic and health measures.
He also stressed that the order bans workers’ layoffs unless it is for reasons mentioned in the Labour Law and reasons that are not associated with the current situation.
