13 major dams reach 28.5% storage capacity

AMMAN — The total volume of storage in the Kingdom's 13 major dams stood at 79.8 million cubic metres (mcm) of their total capacity of 280.760mcm, with a storage rate of 28.5 per cent, the Water Ministry said on Saturday.
The ministry said that the Mujib Dam has the highest storage rate with 21.7mcm of its storage capacity of 24.7mcm, followed by Al Waleh Dam with 9mcm of its storage capacity of 25mcm and King Talal Dam with 23.3mcm of its total storage of 67mcm, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Storage at Al Tannour Dam stood at 4.558mcm out of its total storage capacity of 14.3mcm, Kafrin Dam at 4mcm of its storage capacity of 8.4mcm and Wadi Al Arab Dam at 5.5mcm of its storage capacity of 16.7mcm. Storage percentages remained low in the rest of the Kingdom’s dams.
