13 suspects detained in connection to Irbid fight

IRBID — Irbid’s Public Security Department (PSD) personnel detained 13 suspects for participating in a fight on Friday near the central vegetable market in the Turkman neighbourhood, Irbid Governor Hassan Assaf said on Saturday.

Five people, including two police officers, were injured in the fight between two groups of young people who used guns, knives, rocks and sticks.

The PSD asked Gendarmerie Department personnel to intervene in the fight by using tear gas to separate the two sides.

The injured were taken to hospital and reported to be in fair condition.
