15 virus-related deaths, 1,235 COVID cases recorded Saturday

AMMAN — Fifteen COVID-19 deaths and 1,235 virus cases, including 1,227 local infections, were recorded on Saturday, bringing the caseload to 23,998, the government announced.
The new fatalities took the Kingdom's death toll to 181, according to a joint statement by the Prime Ministry and the Health Ministry.
The local cases comprised 742 infections in Amman, 200 in Zarqa, 59 in Irbid, 31 in Balqa, 97 in Karak, seven in Aqaba, 35 in Maan, 24 in Jerash, 13 in Mafraq, nine in Madaba, eight in Ajloun and two in Tafileh.
Meanwhile, 139 recoveries were registered during the past 24 hours, including 18 from Prince Hamzah Hospital, 106 from the Dead Sea isolation area, 10 from Queen Alia Military Hospital and five in accredited private hospitals, the statement said.
A total of 12,280 random virus tests were also conducted on Saturday, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests administered since the beginning of the crisis to 1,399,752.
On Friday, 22 COVID deaths and 1,246 coronavirus cases, including 1,230 local infections, were registered in the Kingdom.
The statement also reminded the public that the comprehensive curfew ends at 12 midnight and the partial curfew starts at 1am and ends at 6am, during which only people with permits are allowed to go out.
