29th Shabib Festival kicks off under the slogan ‘We rejoice in Hussein’

AMMAN — The 29th Shabib Festival for Arts and Culture kicked off on Thursday evening at the Royal Cultural Centre, under the slogan "We rejoice in Hussein", the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Sharifa Bodur Bint Abdulilah, Chairperson of the Higher Executive Committee for the three-day festival, said during the opening ceremony that the festival aims to nurture young Jordanian talents and enrich the national cultural environment with “creativity that spreads joy”.
She added: "Arab creators trust the festival and are keen to participate in it… and display their various creations".
The opening ceremony included the inauguration of a visual art exhibition "Jordan in Our Eyes", along with a recitation of Jordanian folklore and musical performances. The festival's activities will continue on Friday with the activities in the Children's Corner at the Zaha Cultural Centre, followed by a performance “a Jordanian-Saudi Night of Joy at the Royal Cultural Centre in the evening.
The festival's activities will conclude on Saturday at the Royal Cultural Centre with a poetry recitation by Jordanian and Arab poets, followed by a musical performance.
