AMMAN — There are 3,000 unlicensed shops in Irbid, according to Irbid Mayor Hussein Bani Hani, who was quoted by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday.
Hani directed regional managers at Irbid Municipality to improve the dues collection process, especially for professions and constructions.
He said that the number of unlicensed shops reflects laxness that requires officials to make field visits to collect the fees. The mayor stressed dues collection as the main source of the municipality's budget.
