3.1 magnitude quake recoded in Aqaba

AMMAN — An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale at a depth of 10 kilometres was recorded in the south of Aqaba on Sunday, Jordan Seismological Observatory (JSO) Director Ghassan Sweidan said.
The earthquake, reported at 4:55am by the JSO at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, hit an area some 40 kilometres south of the port city and was felt by its residents, according to an observatory statement.
