AMMAN — Continuing an anti-drug crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) has implemented three specific operations in Aqaba, resulting in the arrest of four suspected drug dealers in Aqaba and Ramtha in possession of firearms and narcotics.
In Aqaba, a search of a suspected drug dealer’s home yielded 3kg of hashish and 10,000 narcotic pills, the Public Security Directorate's spokesperson said on Wednesday.
In Ramtha, two cases were handled by AND. In the first case, a wanted individual who used an automatic firearm against police personnel was arrested, the spokesperson said, adding that police seized an unspecified quantity of narcotics prepared for sale in addition to the weapon found in his possession.
In the second case, two suspected drug traders were arrested, and law enforcement confiscated narcotic substances prepared for sale and a firearm.
