MAFRAQ — Around 90 municipalities in the Kingdom are affected by the Syrian refugee influx, most of which are in the northern governorates, Municipal Affairs Minister Walid Masri said Monday.
During a meeting with UK Minister of State for International Development Desmond Swayne and other local and international officials at the Zaatari Municipality, Masri said the government has supported municipalities with JD200 million although they are independent institutions.
For his part, Swayne said the UK is aware of the problems that resulted from the refugee influx in local Jordanian communities, noting that there are future projects the UK will implement to support host communities.
