ACC issues 13,196 certificates of origin in first-half of 2020

AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) has issued a total of 13,196 certificates of origin for exported goods in the first six months of 2020, marking a drop of 19 per cent compared with the 16,345 recorded during the same period of 2019. 

The drop in the issued certificates of origin was accompanied by a decline in the value of exports during the January-June period to reach JD392 million, a 20 per cent decrease from JD489 million during the same period of 2019.

According to ACC statistics, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Saudi Arabia has issued the highest number of certificates at 2,622, followed by the UAE, Qatar, Iraq and Switzerland. 

In terms of value, Iraq topped the list of export destinations with JD96 million worth of goods and commodities, and the UAE and Qatar followed at JD66 million and JD35 million, respectively.

Reexports reached a total of JD199 million, followed by agricultural exports at JD55 million, industrial exports at JD46 million and Arab products at JD13 million, among others, according to Petra.
