ACC sees 18% increase in issuance of certificates of origin

AMMAN — The certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in the first eight months of 2021 increased by 18 per cent to reach 25,221 certificates, compared with the same period of 2020.
The value of certificates issued by the ACC during the January-August period of 2021 totalled JD477 million compared with JD604 million in the same period of 2020, showing a 21-percent drop, the ACC announced on Saturday.
According to ACC statistics, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Saudi Arabia has issued the highest number of certificates at 6,824, followed by the UAE, Oman, Iraq and Egypt.
In terms of value, Iraq topped the list of export destinations with JD139 million worth of goods and commodities, followed by Saudi Arabia at JD48 million.
