AMMAN — Around 500 food containers are still waiting clearance as a result of the strike of the employees at the Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), Raed Hamadah, representative of the food sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce said Wednesday.
He warned that food items in these containers have validity dates and clearance delay could lead to their damage, which would result in big losses for importers.
Hamadah also warned against the shortage of food items on the local market in case the strike continues.
