AMMAN — The embassy of South Africa in Amman organised a tree-planting ceremony in celebration of the achievements of Nelson Mandela.
The ceremony — attended by ambassadors of African Union (AU) countries in Jordan, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and Amman Mayor Aqel Biltaji — was held at the King Hussein Park.
It also marked the 51st anniversary of the establishment of the AU and coincided with Jordan’s celebration of its 68th Independence Day.
