Ali, China ambassador discuss trade cooperation

AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali and Chinese Ambassador in Amman Chen Chuandong on Thursday discussed means of enhancing economic and business cooperation between the two countries. Talks went over the necessary mechanisms to develop trade and investment between Jordan and China.
The two sides also highlighted the need for drawing up scenarios to stimulate the two countries’ private sectors to increase the two-way trade and joint investments.
Ali urged the Chinese side to take advantage of the investment opportunities in the Kingdom, notably in the industrial and technological sectors in the Jordanian market and the other markets with which Jordan has commercial agreements, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The top official also stressed the importance of linking the private sector and businessmen in the two countries to serve common interests. Talks also attached attention to increasing Jordanian exports to China, including olive oil, dates, Dead Sea products, and fertilisers, given their quality and competitive prices.
The Chinese diplomat voiced his country's readiness to providing technical support to Jordanians in many areas of priority in the Kingdom.
