AMMAN — Justice Minister Bassam Talhouni on Monday said the Cabinet this week endorsed the mandating reasons for an amended draft arbitration law.
Talhouni said developing and enhancing investments requires adopting legislation that facilitates the resolution of disputes, primarily through arbitration, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that most investment contracts include an article under which both parties agree on arbitration as the main means and sometimes the sole way to resolve any dispute that might arise.
The minister said the amended draft arbitration law aims to allow the establishment of two arbitration centres in Amman and Aqaba to resolve disputes, making Jordan a regional centre for arbitration.
