AMMAN — Wadi Finan Art Gallery has recently announced its participation at the Art Dubai Exhibition, which will end on Saturday.

According to a statement sent by Wadi Finan, the gallery is representing three Middle Eastern artists whose works have become the epitome of contemporary reflection infused with local, cultural and historical musings.

Raya Kassisieh, Besher Koushaji and Hamza Bounoua will be trying to push artistic and creative boundaries with their depictions of a reality less conformed, the statement said.

Through the intricate overlay of different fibres and fabrics, Kassisieh’s work displays flourishing lines and purposeful organic shapes that flow through her canvas boasting technical fashion expertise which merges the minimal with the bold and powerful.

Breaking his images into lines and sections, Koushaji’s intricate portraits are complex distortions of what we perceive as real, the statement said, adding that while seemingly current and contemporary, it contains nostalgic undercurrents of what was once a sunny Syrian life.

Inspired by Berber, Islamic and African arts and ethnicities, Bounoua’s abstract lines, letters and geometrical shapes are fantastical portrayals that offer a sliver of the rich and diverse cultural and emotional influences behind his work.

Wadi Finan Art Gallery was established in 2008 and has hosted public exhibitions, workshops and leading special community collaborations, according to the statement.
