Amman trade chamber sees decline in issuance of 2019 certificates of origin

AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Trade issued 33,092 certificates of origin during the first 10 months of 2019, an 11.7-per cent decrease from 37,405 in the same period of 2018.
Despite the decline, the chamber’s exports were valued at JD834 million through October, compared with JD827 million during the same period of 2018, representing a 1-per cent increase, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Saudi Arabia was issued the highest number of certificates at 7,190, followed by the UAE, Iraq, Egypt and Lebanon, respectively, according to the chamber’s statistics, while the largest number of exports, valued at JD194 million, went to Iraq, followed by the UAE, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, respectively.
Reexports reached a total of JD450 million, followed by agricultural exports, industrial exports and Arab products, among others.
