Ancient Petra hosts Austrian military delegation

AMMAN — Austrian Chief of the General Staff Maj. Gen. Robert Brieger on Thursday visited the ancient city of Petra, and toured the archaeological sites in the rose-red city.
Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Chief Commissioner Sulaiman Farajat briefed Brieger and an accompanying delegation on the city’s historical and heritage value as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the authority’s efforts to improve tourist services.
For his part, Brieger expressed his pleasure with the visit, calling it a “historic opportunity to view the famed wonder”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
