Apartment fire kills 2 Iraqi girls — CDD

AMMAN — Two Iraqi girls on Monday died after a fire erupted in an apartment in a four-storey building in downtown Amman, a Civil Defence Department (CDD) statement said. CDD personnel extinguished the fire and transferred the bodies to Al Bashir Hospital. A committee was formed to investigate the cause of the fire, according to the statement.
Also on Monday, a man died and another was injured in a four-vehicle collision in Zarqa. CDD personnel administered first aid to the injured and took the injured man and the body to Marka Military Hospital, where the injured man was reported to be in fair condition. In Aqaba, CDD firefighters put out a fire in a factory, which caused no injuries.
