Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union committee holds meeting in Amman

AMMAN — The 18th session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) executive committee started on Tuesday in Amman with the participation of representatives of 13 countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh and AIPU Secretary General Fayez Shawabkeh attended the meeting. At the opening ceremony, Tarawneh called for cultural enlightenment to counter the influence of terror groups on young people. He noted that the AIPU work is even more important in this period of conflict and instability.
