Arab Parliament awards Dughmi excellence medal

AMMAN — The Arab Parliament on Saturday awarded Lower House Speaker Abdulkarim Al Dughmi the Order of Arab Excellence of the First Degree.

The medal, presented during an Arab Parliament session in Cairo, came in recognition of Dughmi's role in advancing parliamentary work and his contributions to enhancing solidarity and joint Arab action, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

“Honouring me with the Order of Arab Excellence of the First Degree is a tribute to Jordan,” Dughmi said, expressing pride in receiving the award. During the session, the Arab Parliament reelected Adel Abdulrahman Al Assoumi as its speaker for a new term. MP Khalil Atiyeh was elected as the Second Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Petra added.
