Army begins work to implement ‘knights of future’ programme

AMMAN — The General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Wednesday began work to implement His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives regarding the Fursan Al Mustaqbal (knights of the future) programme.
King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of JAF, on Monday sent a letter to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen.
Mashal Al Zaben, directing the army to reconsider its approach to the recruitment and career development of commissioned officers. He also urged the military to maintain “the advanced level of professionalism, capabilities and abilities” enjoyed by JAF members.
