Army chief, Commander of US Central Command talk military cooperation

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Thursday met with Commander of the US Central Command Lieutenant General Michael Eric Corella and an accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed aspects of joint military cooperation and collaboration, and ways to bolster bilateral cooperation relations to serve interests of the two countries' armed forces, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Speaking at the meeting, Huneiti stressed the "deep-rooted" Jordan-US relations and the level of joint cooperation in the military field, through benefiting from mutual expertise and capabilities in the operational, training and technical areas.
Corella stressed the importance of the two armed forces' continuous cooperation and their keenness to open new channels in the fields of military cooperation.
Huneiti and the US delegates listened to military briefings, which highlighted the extent of development and modernisation of weapons, tasks and equipment in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), in line with the region's developments at various levels.
These meetings come within the framework of JAF's efforts to develop its personnel's combat efficiency through cooperation and coordination with other armies and increase joint exercises
