Army chief: JAF harnessing all capabilities to defend borders

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Tuesday visited the Royal Third Border Guard Battalion, one of the units of the Central Military Region, where he was received by the commander of the region, Brig. Gen. Talal Ali Al Ghabin, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During his visit, which was attended by a number of senior officers of the armed forces, Huneiti stressed that the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) is harnessing all its capabilities to defend Jordan’s borders, stating that the JAF is taking a firm and decisive approach to prevent infiltration and smuggling. The JAF is confronting all threats aimed at undermining national security firmly, he said. Huneiti was briefed by the battalion commander on the tasks and duties of the unit, the progress of operational, training and logistics matters, and future plans.
