Army chief meets with military, UN delegations

AMMAN — King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben on Tuesday met with several military and UN delegations, attended by HRH Prince Feisal, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Zaben discussed developments in the region and issues of mutual interest with Gen. Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, leader of the Libyan ground forces. In a separate meeting, Zaben commended the efforts of UNHCR Representative to Jordan Andrew Harper, who will leave his post in Amman this month.
Zaben also met with Edward Kallon, UN humanitarian coordinator and resident representative in the Kingdom, and briefed him on economic and security challenges created by the Syrian crisis.
They highlighted the humanitarian role of international organisations and the importance of safe borders, as well as the need for the international community to unify its efforts to provide financial support for refugee services.
