AQABA — Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Hani Mulki on Monday launched a new marketing plan to develop the Red Sea resort’s tourism sector.
At a meeting with managers of hotels and tourist institutions, Mulki said cooperation between ASEZA and the hospitality sector will ensure the plan’s success by offering competitive prices to attract more tourists.
He added that Aqaba has not been used a major tourist destination due to the limited hotel capacity and the absence of programmes encouraging visitors to extend their stay.
At another meeting with a delegation representing Wadi Rum, Disi and Qweira, Mulki said developing these areas is a top priority for ASEZA, noting that it is in preparing a plan for that purpose.
