AMMAN — The Business Development Centre (BDC) on Saturday held a remote meeting titled "Unleash your skills in post-crisis entrepreneurship".

Brazilian international expert Roberto Gandara, who specialises in entrepreneurial behaviour and is accredited by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), shared helpful procedures and motivational advice with graduates of the "INHAD" programme — a national programme for self-employment — participating in the remote session, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Gandara demonstrated to 80 alumni of the INHAD programme actions that must be taken to transform the ideas and challenges resulting from the coronavirus crisis into opportunities.

He stressed the importance of entrepreneurs providing psychological support to their employees and maintaining relationships with clients and employers to come up with innovative pilot enterprises.

BDC CEO Nayef Staitieh said that Jordan is a “fertile oasis” for establishing private enterprises, adding that the BDC works with all parties todirect enterprise owners to all the services they need.

Also on Saturday, INHAD concluded its first activation camp with the participation of 150 individuals from all governorates of the Kingdom, who completed the training phases, reaching the stage of networking with commercial and Islamic banks and obtaining loans to start their own productive enterprises, Petra reported.

The National Self-Employment Programme, INHAD, aims at combatting unemployment, especially among young people, by promoting a self-employment approach, enabling participants to set up development enterprises that achieve employment opportunities to secure a suitable source of income.
