Awqaf minister oversees final preparation for Hajj

AMMAN — Awqaf Minister Hayel Dawood has checked areas that Jordanian pilgrims are staying at in Mount Arafat.
Dawood was briefed on the final preparations for four camps designated for Jordanian and 1948 Palestinian pilgrims, to make sure that are spacious and supplied with air conditioners and bathrooms, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, is one of the five pillars of Islam and the religious high point of a Muslim’s life, and is performed during a five-day period from the ninth through the 13th of Dhu Al Hijjah, the 12th month of the Muslim lunar calendar.
