BAU president meets with Chinese delegation over bolstering educational cooperation

AMMAN — President of Al Balqa Applied University (BAU) Ahmad Ajlouni on Sunday met with a Chinese delegation from the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The discussions centered on boosting collaboration in the educational domain, with a particular focus on elevating vocational and technical education within the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Highlighting the ongoing cooperation between the university and tech giant Huawei, Ajlouni referred to the establishment of Huawei's inaugural academy in Jordan, leveraging the university's specialised strengths in communications, ICT, and engineering specialisations, including communications and cybersecurity, and the establishment of an artificial intelligence faculty. The Chinese delegates stressed the significance of boosting cooperation in multiple fields, emphasising the need to strengthen cooperation with Jordan's higher education institutions, primarily notably Al Balqa Applied University. Ajlouni and the delegates visited the Huawei Academy, which aims at providing students with expertise in cutting-edge ICT technologies.
