Bishop Younan awarded Niwano Peace Award

AMMAN — Bishop Munib Younan of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land was named the 34th recipient of the Niwano Peace Award this week for his work towards interreligious dialogue among Christians, Muslims and Jews in Jerusalem and worldwide, according to statement sent to The Jordan Times on Thursday.
Each year, the Niwano Peace Foundation of Japan recognises an individual or organisation for serving and promoting peaceful cooperation among religions.
