Cabinet appoints Labboun as EMRC chief commissioner

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday decided to appoint Hussein Labboun as chief commissioner of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC).
The EMRC chief commissioner position is not subject to the bylaw of filling vacancies of leading posts, where the chief practises authorities designated to him by the minister under the Civil Service Bylaw, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Labboun holds a master’s degree and a PhD in engineering from the Texas A&M University.
The Council of Minister also approved the recommendation of the National Centre for Human Rights to appoint Aladdin Armouti as commissioner general for human rights. Prime Minister Omar Razzaz named Prime Ministry employee Nathir Awamleh as the government coordinator for human rights, Petra added.
