Cabinet approves JD6m loan to Petra authority

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved lending the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) JD6 million from the Cities and Villages Development Bank to fund the heritage village project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The decision is part of a series of measures taken by the government recently to support the tourism sector in the Kingdom in general and Petra in particular. The aim of these measures is varying the tourism product and prolonging the tourists’ stay to support the economy.
