Cabinet endorses Civil Service and Public Administration Commission bylaw

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Thursday approved the Civil Service and Public Administration Commission bylaw for the year 2023.
The establishment of the new commission, which will replace Civil Service Bureau as of 2024,falls within the public sector modernisation endeavour, according to a government statement.
As an organisational oversight body, the commission will focus on developing human resource policies and standards, ensuring compliance with appointment procedures, the statement said.
During the session, chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, the Council of Ministers also decided to waive taxpayers of 70 per cent of fines for payments of taxes, fees, and allowances owed to municipalities until December 31, 2020.
The Cabinet also endorsed an ad hoc committee’s recommendations to resolve 20 pending claims between defendants, violators, and the Jordan Customs Department
