AMMAN — The Council of Ministers on Sunday endorsed an executive plan and measures to reform education and vocational and technical training in the Kingdom, allocating JD24 million from the Development and Employment Fund to the plan.

The programme is part of the National Strategy for Human Resources Development 2016-2025 and of the government’s commitment to fully implement the strategy, which was previously endorsed by the Cabinet, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The council earlier adopted the national strategy, launched by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania, to reform education at all levels, and formed a ministerial committee, headed by the prime minister, to follow up on the strategy’s implementation,

The reform programme aims to ensure coordination, planning and funding among all institutions tasked with vocational training, while maintaining the executive tasks of each institution to create more jobs for the Jordanian youth, Petra added.

The plan is in line with government policies which seek to increase recruitment rates in order to achieving economic growth as stipulated in the National Strategy for Human Resources Development.
