AMMAN — Civil Defence Department (CDD) personnel on Sunday extinguished a fire that erupted at three fabrics shops and five warehouses at Wihdat, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The CDD media office said that the fire produced thick smoke, resulting in four cases of suffocation due to smoke inhalation. The firefighters controlled the blaze and extinguished it, while the medical team provided first aid to the injured and transferred them to Al Bashir Public Hospital, where they were listed in fair condition.
Several CDD cadres, as well as Greater Amman Municipality tankers worked to extinguish the fire, the CDD statement said, adding that “quick coordination” among the various authorities had a major role in dealing with the incident, including coordination with the Public Security Department who helped in regulating the road traffic.
