AMMAN — A five-year-old child was killed and five people were injured on Thursday morning as a fire broke out in a second floor apartment in Jordan Street’s area in Nuzha neighbourhood, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The media office of the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said that firefighters extinguished the fire, provided first aid to the injured and transferred them and the child’s body to the Prince Hamzeh Hospital.
The injured were listed in fair condition. Also on Thursday, firefighters at the Western Amman CDD extinguished a fire that erupted within a 30-square-metre area in a caravan on the fourth floor of the administrative services building at the King Hussein Medical Centre.
The CDD media centre said that the fire, resulting from an electric mass, did not cause any injury, according to a CDD statement.
