AMMAN — The Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) and the Ministry of Education announced the resumption of in-class teaching in schools dedicated for students with disabilities starting Sunday, March 28.
In a report sent to The Jordan Times, Director of Education Management at the Ministry of Education Sami Mahasis said that the decision was implemented following parent’s requests.
He stressed that applicable health protocols set and monitored by the HCD and the Education Ministry such as 50 per cent teacher capacity, will be followed.
Mahasis also stressed the importance of this decision for facilitating the students with disability’s right to equal education given the formidable challenges they face in remote education as they require special care and assistance that are best given in the classroom.
