AMMAN — Sami Dawood, the chairperson of the committee entrusted by the Cabinet with examining the Audit Bureau’s report and the secretary general of the Council of Ministers, recommended on Saturday a reimbursement of amounts unlawfully paid to employees of the Social Security Corporation (SSC).
He pointed out that Prime Minister Omar Razzaz approved the committee’s recommendations and instructed the minister of labour, in his capacity as chairperson of the board of directors of the SSC, to immediately retrieve the unlawfully paid amounts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He further explained that the amounts were paid to cover visa fees and per diem for employees in violation of regulations and instructions, as well as per diem for Jordanian delegations to carry out humanitarian initiatives, not related to official work.
The Lower House's mini committee, at its meeting chaired by MP Motaz Abu Rumman on Saturday also called on representatives of the SSC and the SSC Investment Fund (SSIF) to settle the violations listed in the Audit Bureau’s 2017 report, and take immediate measures to ensure collection of about JD1 million by the SSC and the SSIF, Petra reported.
