Conference to examine means to offer comprehensive health insurance

AMMAN — The Jordanian Society for Health Insurance (JSHI) is organising a regional conference on “comprehensive health insurance” at the Dead Sea on April 25-26, with the participation of local and regional experts and specialists, according to a JSHI statement.
JSHI President Ali Wazani highlighted the importance of the conference, stressing the need to provide all Arab citizens with health insurance, which is a top priority for governments in the region, including Jordan.
Wazani said the event will also discuss several papers presented by public and private institutions.

Jordan is among the most advanced Arab countries in the medical sector, with more than 18,000 hospital beds and 21,000 doctors, specialists said on Sunday.
Health sector representatives said achieving targets set in the health component of the Jordan 2025 10-year blueprint requires amending related legislation, building capacity of workers in the field and streamlining health insurance institutions.
