COVID vaccines are safe — Health Ministry
By JT - Feb 10,2021 - Last updated at Feb 10,2021
AMMAN — The Health Ministry on Wednesday denied allegations that some people had died after taking the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccines used in the national vaccination campaign are “safe and cannot by any means cause infection”, the ministry said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The ministry added that the efficiency of the inoculation increases and reaches its desired limit after several weeks of the second dose. It also noted that there is a possibility for those who take the vaccine to contract the virus during the incubation period before receiving the vaccine or after a short period of taking it.
Receiving the vaccine does not mean ignoring safety procedures, such as wearing masks, physical distancing and washing hands, the ministry stressed, urging the public to register on the www.vaccine.jo to receive the vaccine.
