Crown Prince checks on CDD's winter preparedness

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Wednesday visited the Civil Defence Department (CDD), where he checked on the department's preparedness to deal with the unusual upcoming winter conditions and the measures taken to mitigate their effects, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Highness stressed the need to continue developing and modernising the department to continue providing the highest level of services to the citizens, noting the CDD's humanitarian mission to maintain the national safety.
The Crown Prince met with Civil Defence Department (CDD) Director Maj. Gen. Mustafa Bazaiah, who briefed him on the strategy of the department and its future development plans, citing the expansion of its services through the establishment of new stations.
The Crown Prince commended the advanced level reached by the CDD personnel in the field of preparation, qualification and field performance.
During a tour of the command, control and operations centre, His Highness was briefed on the latest technical advances made in communications in case of major emergencies.
He also listened to a briefing about the command and control vehicle, a mobile operations room whereby all the events happening on the field are monitored through surveillance TV cameras.
The Crown Prince was later briefed by the members of the Jordan 4X4 Club on the mechanisms and equipment used in the training of CDD volunteers, which came as a grant from the German Technical Cooperation Agency.
