AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein met on Tuesday at Al Husseiniya Palace with a number of deans of student affairs at private universities.
Crown Prince Hussein stressed the importance of bolstering the role of deanships of student affairs at the Kingdom’s universities, in order to help provide an empowering environment for students to engage in political and partisan life, according to a Royal Court statement.
At the meeting, held within His Royal Highness’ engagements with the deans of student affairs at universities, the Crown Prince said universities have a key role in shaping and maturing students’ political thought.
His Royal Highness said hopes for the nation’s progress are pinned on young Jordanians, which calls for investing in their energy and potential.
The attendees noted that making headway in students’ political engagement requires revisiting teaching methods and extracurricular activities at universities.
They called for striking a balance between the academic side and other aspects of university life, as well as offering educational and awareness-raising activities.
Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain attended the meeting, the statement said.
