Cruise ship carrying 1,700 European tourists arrives in Aqaba

AMMAN — The cruise ship Crystal Cruise on Saturday arrived at the port of Aqaba carrying 1,700 European tourists, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported quoting Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) spokesman Abdel Muhdi Qatamin as saying.
Qatamin said that the tourists will visit the archaeological sites and markets in Aqaba and Petra, noting that the cruise ships tourism started mid October and will continue until the end of April 2018.
He said Jordan is expected to host more than 30,000 European tourists with over 15 cruise ships scheduled to visit Aqaba, pointing out that more than 43,000 tourists visited the port city via cruise ships in 2016.
