Culture minister to announce details of centennial celebrations Saturday

AMMAN — The Culture Ministry is scheduled to launch an executive plan designated to mark the celebrations of the centenary of the foundation of the Jordanian state on Saturday.
During a press briefing scheduled for Saturday, Culture Minister Bassem Tweissi, who is also deputy chairperson of high committee of the centennial celebration of the founding of Jordan, will announce the programmes and events that will be held across the Kingdom throughout this year to mark the occasion.
The celebrations are aimed to document the Kingdom’s achievements in political, economic and social fields, as well as to portray the prominent stages and national symbols through cultural and artistic works and youth initiatives, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.
Headed by the prime minister, the high committee of the centennial celebration of the founding of Jordan includes a number of ministers and institutions that approved the executive plan, which took six month to prepare, to hold the celebrations, according to Petra.
